I am an integrative psychotherapist and I help people who want to journey from surviving life to enjoying and embracing life to its fullest.
I grew up in Greece and my passion for psychology and psychotherapy brought me to the UK where I have lived for the last 15 years.
I celebrate difference and I love working with people of different cultures, races, ages, sexualities, religions, disabilities, education, social class, body sizes and professions. This plurality of views helps me honour and celebrate our uniqueness and individuality, and appreciate the complexity and multiplicity of truths that shape us in helpful or limiting ways. I am deeply humbled by the strength of the human spirit and the common thread that connects every human being: our innate, universal need for relationships.
how I work
Therapy is a transformative journey. Whether you decide to work with me on a short or long-term framework I will offer you a safe, caring, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, reflect on your emotions and try out new ways of being and relating.
In my practice I aim to facilitate the process of psychotherapy by providing and responding with openness, attentive presence, genuineness and compassion to my clients’ struggles. I work collaboratively as I believe that clients are experts in their lives and play an active role in their therapy.
how I can help you
I integrate psychoanalytic and humanistic theories that appreciate the role that relationships play in the shaping of our character and self-esteem, as well as in the way we perceive and relate to others and the world.
This integration of theories enables me to work effectively with difficulties from the past, and with struggles in the here-and-now, whilst attending to the different dimensions of our self experience: the somatic, the intra-psychic, the inter-personal, the inter-subjective, the inter-cultural, and the trans-personal.
My aim is to facilitate your ability for deeper intimacy, authenticity, satisfaction and complexity/plurality, so that you can improve your wellbeing, connect better with yourself and your needs whilst enjoying fulfilling, nurturing relationships with others.
I am a professionally qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
My initial professional qualification in the field of mental health was a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from University of Surrey. I completed a foundation year at Regent's University London where I studied the fundamentals of psychotherapy and counselling.
I received my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy (validated by Middlesex University) and a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute after a comprehensive, four-year training.
My training also includes completing courses in trauma, attachment and neuroscience, youth counselling, bereavement and eating disorders.
I have over 10 years experience of working as a psychotherapist with adults and young people in the NHS, charities, educational organisations and private practice.
